I was playing with my boys after dinner. For some reasons, my heart was laden. I heard his footsteps and the door flung opened. He walked right into the bedroom without even stealing a glance at me. HeĀ removed the crisp pressed shirts and pants from their hangers and carelessly shoved them into his duffel.
“Are you sure?,” I asked helplessly, while trying to keep my head up high.
“I am sorry,” he said in an affirmative voice. He kissed the boys and left.
And the door was closed.

I woke up with a pounding headache!
The warm morning sun was streaming into our bedroom and the birds were chirping. It was a beautiful Sunday morning. My husband was sleeping right beside me. I reached out and caressed his coarse unshaven face. He inched nearer and kissed me with his stale breathe. And for a brief moment we were in each others embrace before the room door was flung opened and we were greeted with roaring “Good Morning….!!!” followed by an infestation of boys in our bed!
I’ve learned to relish every second of such moments. I had a nightmare but woke up to a reality that I now treasure dearly.
Unfortunately, some others are still living that nightmare.
I’ve learned not take for granted the blessings in my life.
